ESG / Sustainability advisor

Are you the person who can make a difference for our clients when helping them manage their Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and other Sustainability-related risks and develop their strategy for responsible business? If yes, we have an opportunity for you to become an integral part of the team with a specific remit to support our clients, in Denmark and globally. We are seeking an advisor who can help our clients navigate through the increasingly volatile business environment, adapt and transform their business towards a sustainable future, and strengthening their management practices across their entire value chain.

Your team
The Sustainability team assists clients in identifying, evaluating and mitigating risks associated with an organisation’s ESG / Sustainability practices and relationships, as well as building responsible business goals and practices across the whole value chain. With some clients, we focus on adapting aspects of their business and with others, we partner with them on their entire transformation journey. Our services focus on improving confidence in an organisation’s purpose, leadership and action for sustainable value creation in a time of uncertainty and complexity. Our services also help organisations improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their Sustainability-related processes and controls, including in relation to suppliers and business partners, and seize opportunities around sustainability that result in improved business performance. Our clients include companies across e.g. consumer, energy, pharma and financial sectors as well as public and international organisations.

Your role
Managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities is at the heart of good governance and long-term value creation. We offer our clients a distinct approach that encompasses not just tools, but also people and processes — helping clients put the right skill sets, accountability and governance in place to effectively manage and improve their sustainability-related practices across the value chain. As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in the Sustainability team, you will have a key role in further developing the Sustainability and ESG service line and our offerings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • assisting clients in building responsible and sustainable strategies and governance;
  • advising clients on strategies for monitoring and managing Sustainability-related risks and seizing opportunities across their entire value chain;
  • assisting clients in implementing best practice procedures in own operations and across the value chain, from suppliers and third parties to customers and end users;
  • assisting clients with reviewing and assuring ESG & Sustainability data and reporting;
  • participation in building our Sustainability management methodologies and evolving best practices.

We believe in leadership at all levels. Therefore, we foster a culture that encourages you to take the lead on your specific development level, while providing you with the tools, opportunities and guidance to succeed. You will work in diverse and often cross-functional teams. Our working languages are both Danish and English.
Your Professional Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with competencies and experience within two or more of the following sustainability topics: climate change, circular economy, human rights, anti-corruption, impact measurement, and ESG / Sustainability reporting. Experience with digital sustainability solutions and data analytics is a plus.

Ideally, you have a few years’ in-house corporate or financial sector or professional services experience within Sustainability & ESG.

You have the following skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree level education, e.g. Business Administration, Law or Economics
  • A strong interest in ESG & Sustainability trends globally and locally
  • Experience embedding sustainability across different parts of a corporate value chain and pursuing business opportunities within the broad sustainability agenda
  • Good knowledge of global sustainability initiatives and frameworks, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), The Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights, UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and others
  • Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver effectively with what can often be ambiguous requirements
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and a proven ability to transform analysis into practical solutions
  • Proven planning and project management skills in complex projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The willingness to travel to client sites as required by this position
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
