Finance Director, DENMARK GSMO

Global Sales Marketing and Operations (GSMO) Finance is driving shareholder value in 60 subsidiaries and carries the local accountability for the financials as well as statutory and compliance matters across all segments and products. We:

The Denmark Finance team has the responsibility to partner with sales and marketing teams to drive increased shareholder value. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team and you will be part of the WW community of Subsidiary Controllers that make each other great and build on each other.

 

The CFO is part of the Area Finance Leadership team (FLT) making key decisions around people, processes and business Impact. The CFO is also part of the Subsidiary LT accountable for delivering the business results, driving the Company’s strategy whilst operating within the required governance. The CFO drives the Subsidiary Finance function, which comprises of Financial Control, Business Control and Control & Compliance teams on top of representing Microsoft externally. The CFO builds solid organizational capability with diverse talent and the future leaders of Microsoft finance.

You are action oriented and able to build and deliver strong results through others beyond the team as well.

• Land the Finance blueprint and clarify team priorities, roles and responsibilities, new performance expectation and accountabilities of each role

Business Partnership and Impact

• Own key internal business and LT alignment to targets and estimates;

• Play a leadership role in landing the business org change and business risk mitigation

• Execute Business transformation towards the cloud. Accelerate growth and consumption with resource allocation (Field Operating Model)

• Drive consumption and monitor/improve ROI of investments

• Engage in all large and complex Cloud transformational deals, ensuring maximum long-term profitability.    

• Engage with external business decision makers and sponsor key customers and partners to drive more Microsoft products and services awareness and generate business for the company.

 

Finance & Business excellence

• Drive P&L management through solid cost control processes while ensuring investments are generating top line growth overachievement and delivering Accountability Margin.

• Ensure the team provides accurate forecasts across products and pricing levels to avoid significant forecast errors of US GAAP revenue at MS Group level under the New Rev Standard (NRS).

 

Compliance

• Establish compliance as a foundational & cultural pillar of doing business in your organization. Lead by example, ensure strict adherence to policies, supported by strong tone at the top and efficient compliance governance process with regular monitoring.

• Leverage data analytics in order to proactively identify risks and focus efforts on the right preventive actions.

• Drive solid statutory and tax compliance engaging with external auditors and tax consultants.

 

Key indicators of success

• MS Poll and Manager feedback results. SPI index score. People scorecard score (e.g. attrition) High quality development plans in line with business transformation and progress being made

• Planned vs actual ROI for all spend. Deep insight and action plan to manage CPH, HC ramp, CS

• End-to-end visibility of top deals (size/Cloud size) to enable holistic high quality decision making on deal, discount, ECIF, Digital Win Room, channel incentives. Understand customer proposition, link to account plan and related decisions (e.g. credit collections, consumption plan, partner involvement e.g.)

• Drive CSP profitability discussion with new and existing CSPs with goal to educate, get FB and assess partner investment commitment. Join for top 5 non CSP partner (LSP/ISV/Disti) the QBR and lead financial agenda (Credits; Investments; Partner P&L).

• Be the sponsor of accounts for targeted customers. Reach out to targeted BDM customers to drive consumption from finance peer perspective

• Predictability (forecast accuracy) and quality of key cycles (Planning, forecast, month end)

• Improved compliance dashboard and audit results

• Team delivers deep actionable insights on 3 bold ambitions to drive topline revenue and consumption growth and maximize ROI and Accountability Margin.

• Modernize finance (showcases and apply machine learning and modern BI framework

• Improved compliance dashboard and audit results. Lower # of findings in IA report, SCA findings

 

Qualifications

3+ years of active experience in similar role

15+ years of experience in finance / finance leadership positions

Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended

Fluent in English

BA/BS or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, CPA/CA preferred
