Finance Manager

As Finance Manager at New Balance Scandinavia ApS you will become a part of the Nordic Business Unit in a global company. New Balance Scandinavia is in growth and is expanding its market area. New Balance Scandinavia is part of the American New Balance Inc. and refers to the European headquarter located in United Kingdom.

With direct report to the Country Manager of the Business Unit you become a part of a well-functioning economics department with reference from three employees. You will have the overall responsibility of all financial aspects of the subsidiary business in Scandinavia, including driving the subsidiary’s financial strategy and planning. Also, you will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the subsidiary as well as identifying any possible risks and investments. This includes direct responsibility for the finance team, ensuring that effective financial controls are in place throughout the function.

As the Head of Finance in the local subsidiary, you act as business sparring partner to the Country Manager and local management team, developing the subsidiary towards profitability and long-term success. Simultaneously you hold the financial reporting line to the corporate HQ.

Your main tasks are to:

  • Provide detailed reporting and commentary on actual vs. plan results
  • Act as partner towards global and regional finance teams to successfully develop budgets and forecasts, understand business drivers and influence forecasting assumptions
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative strategic analyses to support long- and short-term decision makings in conjunction with the senior management team
  • Support the organization´s business planning processes
  • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risks
  • Manage the finance team, coach and support individually and team based. 

You have a high-level education within finance and/or accounting (such as cand.merc.aud., cand.merc.økonomistyring, HR-R). 

Ideally, you have experience as Finance Manager with well-developed skills within reporting and accounting, perhaps you started your career as Accountant. You are experienced in financial planning and analysis, analysing financial results/statements and developing budgets and forecasts. 

You are a person with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and feel comfortable in communication and presentation situations.  You have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to build lasting relationships internally and externally. This is supplemented with good commercial acumen, leadership skills and the ability to influence others. You are informal, down to earth and manage with a coaching and motivating mindset.
