Fraud Investigator

Your Role

To support Trustpilot’s rapid expansion, we’re creating Team of Investigations in Copenhagen.

Trustpilot’s Team of Investigations is part of a larger Trust & Transparency unit. We collaborate with Legal, Communications and Technology to ensure Trustpilot’s trustworthiness and the reliability of our platform. The Fraud Investigator is responsible for safeguarding Trustpilot’s brand by preventing, detecting and combating fraudulent behaviour.

Your Responsibilities

  • Preventing and combating fraudulent behavior on Trustpilot’s platform.
  • Performing fraud investigations and detection tasks in relation to the platform.
  • Localize and act on fraud facilitators. 
  • Acting as a go-to person for other departments including management when there is evidence of fraudulent behavior of users or companies.
  • Working closely with the Product Team on developing and identifying patterns related to fraudulent behavior using data.
  • Cooperating with departments within Trustpilot by sharing expertise necessary for building fraud supporting tools and technologies that help us to scale better and work more efficiently.
  • Work with authorities or other collaborative parties e.g. Trading Standards. 
  • Escalate and support accordingly where non compliant behavior is identified. 
  • Assist Head of Investigations with the development, identifying,creation and maintenance of policies and procedures for investigation operations.
  • Assist Head of Investigations with continuous improvement of investigative processes , this includes automation and technological developments.

About You

  • Background with a minimum of a few years' experience in investigations.
  • A Bachelor degree or higher from a relevant field.
  • Advanced understanding of fraud detection from a data centric approach.
  • Experience in identifying patterns and outliers that can assist with the continuous development of technology to prevent, detect and combat fraudulent behavior.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to understand the nuances of communication with businesses and consumers.
  • Developed critical thinking combined with interpretative skills to gather and translate evidence into factual and informative reports.
  • A proactive and problem solving approach combined with strong business acumen.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency with a keen eye for detail and efficiency, while taking pride in handling every case.
  • Able to work independently and in a team being enthusiastic and self starter.
