Funding coordinator with strong communication skills to the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated funding coordinator with attention to detail, excellent communication skills and an interest in working in an ambitious international research environment and team. The funding coordinator will be part of the Research Support Team while also working closely with the Management Team and scientists at DanStem.

Background

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Biology – DanStem has been established as a result of a series of international recruitments coupled with research groups already located at the University of Copenhagen. DanStem addresses basic research questions in stem cell and developmental biology and has activities focused on the translation of promising basic research results into new strategies and targets for the development of new therapies for cancer and chronic diseases such as diabetes and liver failure. Job description

The funding coordinator will, under supervision of the research coordinator, contribute to successful acquisition of external funding, and coordinate post-award reporting to grant agencies. Together with the research coordinator and in collaboration with colleagues at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences the funding coordinator will assist scientists to ensure high quality grant applications.

Job description

The funding support coordinator is expected to participate and assist with the following tasks:

  • Monitor calls for application from national and international funding agencies.
  • Give practical, hands-on support during the application writing process and submission.
  • Coordinate information and contribute to writing high quality scientific reports
  • Support preparation of material for periodic meetings and evaluations.
  • Participate in various center activities and contribute actively to general research support.
Qualifications, required experiences, and skills

  • Preferably a Master or PhD degree in natural or health sciences.
  • Experience from a similar position will be considered an advantage.
  • Enjoy working as a team member and develop relations within a multi-cultural research environment.
  • Positive, pro-active, and solution oriented approach and an open door for the Center’s scientists.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write scientific reports and summarize research results in English.
  • Ability to prioritize, and handle multiple tasks, and frequent deadlines.
Employment conditions

The employment will be as academic officer (fuldmægtig) in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Government and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). There is a monthly contribution to a pension fund (17.1% of the salary), and a supplement can be negotiated.

Start date: February 1st 2021 or upon agreement.

The working hours are 37 hours per week.
