Group Life Cycle Assessment Specialist (Maternity Cover)

We offer you the opportunity to kickstart your career in a maternity cover, which will provide you with all the knowledge you need about our company, our products and our production to seize further development opportunities.

Join us in a vital role where you will help us prove that we reach our international goals towards becoming a constantly greener, more sustainable company.

This is who we are

You will be welcomed into Group Marketing & Communication – a truly international department with 17 different nationalities. Here, you will join the Regulatory Affairs team, which is equally international and a great mix of colleagues who are experts within their own respective fields. Together, we support Marketing by improving our products position in the market through standardisation and regulatory matters.

“It’s a dynamic environment. We travel quite a bit to work with colleagues, collaborators and experts globally, but even with independent agendas, we always manage to help each other and maintain our great team spirit,” says Group Regulatory Affairs Specialist, Baijia Huang.

This is the role
In this 1-year maternity cover, you will play a key role in ensuring transparency in the environmental footprint for anyone who uses the ROCKWOOL products.

You will do so by working closely with global colleagues, experts from other companies as well as e.g. the European Commission to continuously improve the method for making Environmental Product Declarations and life cycle assessments for our products. Collecting, analysing and managing data in MS Excel, you will make the assessments using software such as Gabi, SimaPro etc.

Specifically, you will:

  • Enter dialogues with stakeholders to determine which data is needed for your assessments
  • Create ROCKWOOL Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
  • Assist colleagues with EPD related tasks
  • Assist in evaluating and translating technical results in understandable messages for internal or external communication
  • “In this role, you both get to network with people globally but also spend quite a bit of time immersed in data. Your eye for detail can help determine the environmental impacts of our production – and how we keep reducing that number towards a more sustainable future,” explains Baijia.

    This is what you offer
You may be a real people person – one who likes to network and communicate across cultures. But at the same time, you enjoy transforming the information you gather into structured high-quality data, and that takes a good amount of patience and thoroughness. Also, we will rely on you to be proactive and plan your work independently, while not losing sight of the team effort. Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Hold an M.Sc. or PhD in building, civil, architectural, environmental engineering or similar
  • Ideally have a few years of experience with building physics, LCA and sustainability
  • May have experience in the construction sector
  • Have knowledge of EU rules surrounding environmental declarations, e.g. EN 15804, Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCRs) and Organisation Environmental Footprint Sector Rules (OEFSRs)
  • Have very good data management and analytical skills and have excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Are fluent in spoken and written English
  • This is what we offer
When you start your new job, we will be ready with a well-structured onboarding programme. But your learning will not end there. Gaining a great network within the sustainability area, you will also gain a foothold in a global company where we continuously try to reduce our CO2 footprint. In just one year, you will have made a difference at Group level, helping us prove to the world that ROCKWOOL insulation indeed is environmentally friendly, not just now but way into the future.
