Head of Pricing, West Central Asia

We offer

As Head of Pricing for West Central Asia, you will join the Pricing Management team in Maersk Line Centre Commercial; a team of engaged and enthusiastic people who handle short-term pricing and enable Maersk Line to deliver top-line improvement.

The Pricing Management team sets and optimises short-term prices (validity up to and including 13 weeks) of ocean and inland products within the assigned geographic scope, offering the most relevant prices to customers while maximising the profit of Maersk Line. This is done through use of data and close cooperation with Trade Managers and cluster stakeholders.

The Head of Pricing reports to the Head of Revenue Management, and has a small team of Senior Pricing Managers and Pricing Managers.

As Head of Pricing, you will have the following responsibilities, amongst others:

Develop pricing plan and pricing action plan in accordance with market plan to meet short-term ROFO targets.

Follow up on execution.

Consult with trades if having to exceed or compromise existing pricing mandate.

Synthesize pricing analysis and review.

Conduct day-to-day sparring and coaching of Pricing Managers in relation to price setting and optimization.

Manage internal stakeholders to create best possible conditions for short-term pricing.

Ensure that pricing decisions are performed in accordance with pricing decision methodology and are appropriately documented.

Ensure follow-up on all major pricing decisions with focus on lessons learned.

Contribute to further enhancement of revenue management by collaborating with revenue optimisation team.

We require proven experience with the following:

Minimum 5 years experience in revenue or pricing management.

Ability to lead and motivate others, including through a transformation.

Insight into the liner shipping industry and strong commercial and business mindset.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Ability to think strategically and with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Taking ownership and following through until completion of tasks.

Additional skills which are preferred, but not required:
• In-depth understanding of marketing, specifically competitor and market segmentation analysis and trends
