Head of Strategic CoE - Logistics Development & Efficiency, Aarhus/Leeds/Stockholm/Dusseldorf

Would you like to set the direction and direct the development agenda in our customer driven Supply Chain organisation? As part of our ambitious journey, Arla is searching for a bright mind with excellent Supply Chain strategic insight, who can define and implement best-in-class Logistics operation and processes from production to store.

Own and drive the newly created Strategic Centre of Excellence organisation and head up the Logistics Development & Efficiency CoE, here you will drive and align the organisation towards a world class supply chain. You will be working in an informal international environment from one of our main locations in Europe - Denmark, Sweden, Germany or UK but with travel 30-40% of the time. 

The Job
Our new Head of CoE Logistics Development & Efficiency will be driving our logistics strategy and efficiency across warehousing, transportation, planning and systems to develop and implement a cost-efficient Supply Chain strategy and joint value creation from advanced and integrated collaborative logistics end to end . You will manage a small team of 6 Supply Chain experts but have a strong influence and mandate across the Logistics operation to drive the centre of excellence agenda.  This includes:

  • Together with the local and global supply chain and commercial markets, develop, drive and deliver on activities that support top line revenue growth and bottom line cost efficiency aligning to Arla's strategic plans
  • Form and co-sponsor commercially driven service offering by promoting cross collaboration between supply chain and commerical markets, working closely with front end stakeholders.
  • Own and drive the cost competitiveness agenda through optimizing warehouse operations, distribution routes and equipment utilization to realise synergies.
  • Lead the business change management and improvement programmes together with the Logistics Leadership team. These will not just be the "low hanging fruit" but with a  strong emphasis on strategic improvements. 
  • Deliver innovation that directly influences and delivers service benefits, productivity and efficiency, eg process automation opportunities.
  • Closely engage with the local country teams that is migrating activities from the CoE.
  • Raise the bar and champion markets to develop and deliver on activities and projects.
  • Drive global KPIs and analysis as well as our continuous improvement agenda across markets, developing a strategic logistics footprint.

The strong candidate
You have an excellent toolbox and the personal clout to bring missions from idea to implementation. In addition to strong project management skills and outstanding logistics knowledge, you probably hold a master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering or you have another relevant academic degree. Broad and extensive Logistics management experience is a must with a proven track record of developing and improving logistics functions in both operational and strategic ways, ideally within a global FMCG company.

You are used to working in global settings and are an excellent communicator who is able to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders. This includes:

  • A strategic ability to link the different business agendas to inspire and unite the organisation around a shared agenda.
  • A strong business acumen in understanding how a global FMCG company works and leverage on existing business trends or developing new opportunities.
  • A high intellectual capability and strategic perspective, with the ability to unite and inspire the organisation around a shared agenda using your influencing and communication skills. 
  • Creativity to see past the low hanging fruit and work strategically to develop an effective and efficient logistics operation in the long term.
