Head of Technology Architecture

In Nordea, Group Architecture has a critical role in supporting business goals and strategy in order to maximise customer value, whilst enabling synergies and common approaches across Nordea’s operations — its core business functions, processes, information systems, and services. We are making significant investments in Enterprise Architecture (EA) to drive this significant positive impact on business value in several areas, including decreased operating costs, improved speed-to-market, reduction of complexity and risk, and greater overall technology effectiveness.   

This forms the backdrop of Nordea’s focused journey of being a leading digital bank. Group Architecture is facilitating major strategic changes that are transforming the business from branch- focused to highly digitally enabled, with an emphasis on leveraging current and emerging technologies to do so. Its aim is to provide an end-to-end holistic view of the enterprise, in order to support the decision-making process needed to continuously improve and fine-tune the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.  

Hence, we are looking to bring onboard a senior professional and a natural leader who along with a small team will engage with key leaders across all global functions and business units and seek to understand both current capability gaps and future business needs.   

This role will report to the Head of Group Architecture.

The Position we offer 

Leading a small team of enterprise infrastructure architects, the Head of Technology Architecture will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to publish artefacts, patterns and standards that optimally enable business strategy and objectives through a full-stack and service-based approach to technology. Utilizing in-depth knowledge of infrastructure, middleware technologies and application architecture patterns, this leader will develop the strategy to achieve business and engineering buy-in, and monitor and measure execution toward the target architecture. He/she will form close partnerships with business, business technology and technology engineering and support stakeholders to help manage the demand and supply of technology capability, as well as produce or influencing strategies that optimise cost-efficiency whilst reducing risks.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technology and infrastructure architectural direction and guidance to other enterprise architects, business architects, data architects and solution architects 
  • Partner with business IT leaders and functions to act as an advisor to strategic planning efforts or execution 
  • Research, evaluate, introduce and accelerate new technologies and methodologies to support technology transformation that enable overall business strategy 
  • Lead and facilitate the creation of technology and infrastructure principles to guide business technology, technology and solution architecture teams 
  • Produce artefacts that measurably enable business strategy and objectives, with a focus on target-state/vision that delivery teams can execute upon 
  • Review and align investment planning and execution with prevailing architectural strategy and road-maps. 
  • Collaborate with IT leadership in the design and development of the strategic direction and vision for IT and Enterprise Architecture 
  • Facilitate the communication of architecture best practices throughout the architecture community and the IT organization by participating in leadership forums, architecture councils. 
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of technology standards, working with engineering and service staff to uphold  lifecycle discipline and steer toward the consumption of IT services 
  • Develop multi-year technology and infrastructure road-maps at a capability level, and collaborating with engineering function to ensure product road-maps can meet business requirements 
  • Facilitate transformation, migration, convergence, consolidation strategies by providing appropriate artefacts or inputs to business and technology stakeholders 
  • Participate in architecture forums and road-shows, and collaborate with stakeholders in person or via internal collaboration platforms 
  • Participate, review, approve and constructively challenge when necessary, in architectural governance activities 
  • Coach, lead and mentor members of your team, and managing the deliverables of your team  
  • Lead by example 

 Who you are

The successful candidate will have in depth experience of working in enterprise architecture in a corporate, international environment. He/she will be a natural leader, have an analytical mindset, be a strategic thinker and a strong problem-solver.  Nordea’s four key values are: Collaboration – Ownership – Passion – Courage and we expect all our people to embody these values.   You will also need: 

  • 10+ year experience working in Enterprise Architecture, with a focus on technology infrastructure architecture. 
  • At least 5 years within financial services 
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management and CMDB, with ITIL certification a strong advantage. 
  • Strong understanding of data centre architecture, including location strategy and resilience concepts such as active and passive applied to both data centre and applications within a data centre. 
  • Strong understanding of private and public cloud (hybrid cloud) concepts, and familiarity with service offerings from vendors such as AWS and Microsoft including IaaS and software services. 
  • Familiarity with Agile SDLC, and the technology functional and operational aspects of DevOps, infrastructure-as-code and PaaS architecture 
  • Strongly familiar with the differences between waterfall and agile delivery, and technology ITSM implications such as; high levels of automation, Continuous    
  • Integration/Deployment/Delivery, and the requirements of elastic container-based deployments vs traditional CMDB 
  • A thorough understanding of agile/lean methodology, including concepts such as the Agile Manifesto and how an Agile SCRUM operates. Any experience with client-side or back-end programming would be an advantage. 
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure layers and leading technologies and/or vendor offerings in the; network, storage, platform and database space. 
  • Familiarity with workspace technologies ranging from corporate user OS, to virtual desktops, VPN and enterprise messaging, email, voice and video. 
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and experience in producing artefacts, with understanding of frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with application architectures patterns, including LAMP stacks, multi-tier applications, load-balancing concepts to VM and container-based micro-services 
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders and effectively communicate and influence up and down the ladder in a matrixed, multi-cultural, collaborative and self-directed environment 
  • Solid analytical skills to understand complex technology challenges, and articulate effective approaches and road-maps to solve them, whilst communicating key concepts to non-technical business audiences as well as often-technical technology audiences  
  • Strong leadership skills 
  • Excellent English both written and spoken 
  • Technology or infrastructure-related certifications (e.g. MCSE, CCNP, CCIE and other leading infrastructure vendors) would be a strong advantage, as well as engineering and/or operational support background 
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience demonstrating deep and broad knowledge of all aspects of technology infrastructure, service-based delivery.

Fagligt ligger ansvaret for Sygehusapotekets kvalitetsstyringssystem i QA-afdelingen. Kvalitetsstyringssystemet anvendes hovedsageligt inden for fremstillings- og logistikområdet, men også i Sygehusapotekets øvrige afdelinger, og således er der en stor samarbejdsflade bredt i organisationen.

Ud over det overordnede kvalitetsstyringssystem, der blandt andet rummer system for instruktioner, afvigelseshåndtering, validering og kvalificering, ændringskontrol, risikovurdering, samt kontrakter og audit, er følgende overordnede områder placeret i QA

  • Frigivelse af Sygehusapotekets lægemidler
  • QA-godkendelse af dokumenter udarbejdet i Sygehusapotekets øvrige afdelinger
  • Udarbejdelse af PQR og QMR, samt trend på afvigelser og reklamationer
  • Miljø- og procesmonitorering under produktion og mediefyld, herunder ID-analyse og GPT

Ud over de ledelsesmæssige opgaver, skal du forvente at indgå i løsningen af de faglige opgaver i afdelingen.

Din profil

Vi søger en engageret og handlekraftig QA-leder, der

  • Er uddannet farmaceut eller har en tilsvarende uddannelse og derved kan varetage rollen som dQP

  • Har erfaring inden for GMP
