HR Director – Central Europe Supply Chain

The  HR Director is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain VP covering Central Europe. Majority of the sites and terminals are based out of Germany. The German Arla organisation has its local head office in Düsseldorf where colleagues work together to sell Arla dairy products – such as Buko and Kærgaarden – across the German market.

There are two German production sites, one in Pronsfeld – which is the largest of Arla’s 60 dairy sites, and one in Upahl. All sites result from mergers with Hansa-Milch and Milchunion Hocheifel MUH. In the central Europe cluster we also have a site operating out of DK Esbjerg with 400 colleagues and one in Nijkerk Netherlands with 275 colleagues. The German organization has 1500 colleagues of whom 1100 work in SC and Logistics.

The HR Director has a team of 3 HR Business Partners supporting Germany and 1 HR Business Partner with a dotted line supporting the Netherlands and is reporting to the HR Vice President Global Supply Chain

What the role entails

  • Lead the implementation of the strategic HR agenda in Arla’s German Supply Chain organisation and Central Europe
  • Strong partnership with Senior business leaders
  • Translate business needs into HR solutions – both on a strategic and a tactic level
  • Drive ONE Germany in the Arla SC organisation – eg organizational change, new ways of working flexible working and other HR projects support the transformation
  • Continue to enforce the collaboration in the HR operating model – Global HR and Commercial
  • Lead HR transformational activities across SC Central Europe
  • Lead and develop HR team

What you bring to the table

The ideal candidate has 12-15+ years of experience with HR from a global company and strong insight into the various HR disciplines from employee relations, people development, organisational design over to strategic sparring with senior business leaders.

Furthermore you should have:
Experience from a production company with a global supply chain – any industry

  • Experience with general HR disciplines incl German labor law
  • Experience with organisational transformation and change management
  • Strong people leadership competencies
  • University Degree in Business or HR
  • Fluency in German and English.
