H&S Specialist Projects

Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest electricity generators and producer of heat and operates in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Vattenfall’s main products are electricity, heat and gas. We are now looking for a H&S Specialist Projects for our Business Area Wind. As the H&S Specialist you are responsible to provide independent, authoritative advice, support & assistance to the Line organization on the function of Health and Safety, to ensure the company meets its statutory obligations during the execution of project development works by implementing good practice to achieve high levels of Health and Safety management.

 This is a 12 months temporary position to cover a maternity leave, with the possibility to become a permanent position.  

Your responsibilities as H&S Specialist Projects:
• Implementation of the Health and Safety governing model in the area of activities being supported by this position
• Communication of Health and Safety programmes for the implementation of Health & Safety Strategies, plans, regulations and standards within the supported area of activities
• Development, communication and follow up of Business Unit/Operations Unit specific measures for the implementation of Business Area Health and Safety Strategies, plans, regulations and standards
• Advise and support the Business Unit/Operations Unit in the implementation of Health and Safety Management systems and Vattenfall Project Management Model
• Monitor and Report on relevant issues to Health and Safety
• Support the Offshore projects in achieving compliance with relevant construction design legislation

Work tasks:
Specific tasks for this position will include but are not limited to:
• Produce high quality H&S documentation for the project design and construction phase including design/construction H&S plans and pre-construction information.
• Participate and lead risk workshops including HAZIDs, HIRAs and risk register reviews
• Review when requested, risk assessments, method statements, Health & Safety plans and other documents for Vattenfall employees and/or contractors working on Vattenfall sites/activities
• Provide Health & Safety input into the procurement process of contractors & suppliers, ensuring this is addressed in the contract document
• Ensure accidents/incidents are reported in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements
• Prepare monthly Health and Safety reports for the area
• Provide input into the design process to ensure risks have been designed out as far as reasonably practicable
• Act as a point of contact for external authorities for Health and Safety for the areas supported
• Promote and support the continual improvement of Health and Safety in the areas/activities covered to achieve BA Winds ambition of safety excellence
• Liaise and share information within the BA Wind Health and Safety Team and the Line organization
• Carry out onshore and offshore Site Safety Inspections and Safety Audits when required and on completion produce written reports 

Your profile as H&S Specialist Projects:
• You have a degree in engineering or Occupational Health and Safety and extensive work experience in this field
• Full and detailed understanding of DK Health and Safety Law related construction and design legislation
• Trained and experienced in incident investigation and auditing techniques
• Minimum five years full time experience in Health and Safety management in DK
• Experience in working in a high hazard industry such as construction or power industry or offshore industries
• Experience with client/contractor relationships & management
• Able to develop good working relationships with fellow employees, contractors and external stakeholders
• Good communication skills, both verbally and written Danish and English
