HVAC Application Manager

In this role, you are the residential HVAC expert for the leading player in the pump industry. Using your hands-on HVAC experience, and applying your passion for combining deep application knowledge with digital solutions for enhanced end-user experience, you help us drive the long-term transformation of Grundfos, moving towards integrated HVAC systems for Domestic buildings. Thus, you will play a major part in defining our global HVAC solutions journey, reaching 3-5 years into the future.


You will be part of the Domestic Building Services (DBS) business development team, consisting of 8-10 highly skilled business developers and engineers in Bjerringbro, Denmark. Together, you set and execute the global commercial strategy of Grundfos’ offerings to customers in residential housing, your role being to deliver deep and real-life expertise on customer needs and pains in HVAC systems globally.

What is the job about?


On a day-to-day basis, you become responsible for “front end” portfolio development through application knowledge and insights related to DBS HVAC solutions. Your role is to collect and feed technical, application and digital/automation insights to your business development colleagues and the broader organization, enabling highly complex initiatives to meet customer needs. In more detail, you lead Grundfos’ DBS HVAC application ambitions and activities, across the application lifecycle, and you:


  • Explore and describe regional similarities and differences in applications
  • Reflect on how we can add value digitally, for example through alarms, algorithms, monitoring, remote controls, user interface etc. – and contribute that knowledge into relevant projects
  • Work together with the DBS HVAC business developer and product managers to define Grundfos’ plan for moving from HVAC pumps to HVAC systems and solutions - with a digital layer
  • Collaborate internally, swaying regional and global development to further the DBS HVAC agenda and grow our business profitably Collaborate externally, for example initiate and maintain an “open knowledge creating environment” with channel partners, universities, lead customers, etc. to proactively develop new value propositions based on outside-in approaches


What do you need to apply?


Most likely, you hold a HVAC engineering background, combined with some years of experience from a corporate – possibly international – setting. You have direct experience with digitalization and automation in domestic applications. A role in Sales at some point in your career, and/or international work experience are great advantages, however your technical and application knowledge will be your key focus area. You are familiar with HVAC solutions in domestic buildings and best practice in DBS HVAC systems. You communicate effortlessly in English; Danish language skills are not a requirement.


Moreover, you can document great experience in customer involvement and converting such input to new product or business concepts. This requires an inquisitive mind and a fair amount of curiosity, as a major part of your job is to collect new knowledge and proactively network outside and inside Grundfos as well as across our most important markets.
