In vivo Pharmacologist - Research Scientist, Senior or Principal Scientist

SNIPR Biome is pioneering a novel use of CRISPR/Cas technology to address difficult-to-treat infections and human diseases. They use their technology to selectively and precisely decimate target bacteria, while leaving the rest of the microbial community intact and unharmed. Moreover, the company is well funded, which will finance the further development of the company’s pioneering CRISPR technology platform and the company’s first clinical programs.

As In vivo Pharmacologist at SNIPR Biome you will participate in drug discovery projects, and provide projects with expert in vivo pharmacology input. Furthermore, you will lead and oversee CROs and external collaborations.

With direct report to VP, Head of In Vivo Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Your main tasks are:

  • To design, plan, and perform in vivo pharmacology studies in the field of infectious diseases in collaboration with CROs and international academic groups (the work includes protocol writing, data analyses, report writing, and presentation of results)
  • Establish relevant animal infectious disease models in collaboration with CROs and/or international academic groups
  • Support R&D projects with efficacy testing of novel drug development candidates in relevant animal infectious disease models
  • Lead and oversee CROs and external collaborations
  • Support translation of nonclinical pharmacology data into toxicological and clinical relevance
  • Participate in the writing of the pharmacology part of INDs/CTAs and contribute to other regulatory documents
  • Participate in ongoing innovation work, including support to identification of new focus areas and setting up the nonclinical strategies to explore new targets
  • Provide R&D projects with expert pharmacology input

Your qualifications are a minimum of 5 years of relevant drug discovery and development experience from the pharmaceutical industry (Big Pharma, Biotech and/or from a CRO) combined with in-depth, hands on working experience with in vivo models of preferably infectious diseases.

Furthermore, you have extensive experience with collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and international academic groups. Also, documented scientific excellence within infectious diseases and/or microbiome biology is expected.

You have a PhD degree in pharmacology, human biology, veterinary medicine, or similar field of studies. You have excellent English communication skills, both written and oral, and you are an advanced user of MS Office and other relevant IT tools or systems.

You are a person with great team-player skills who is able to establish good working collaborations with external partners. You are flexible, open to challenges, adaptable, and you thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial research environment. It is important that you are passionate about working in a novel therapeutic area with great opportunities of setting your personal mark and making a difference.
