Industrial Postdoc for In Vitro Evaluation of Therapeutic Peptide Drug-Drug Interaction Risk

The position

Drug-drug interactions for therapeutic peptides is an evolving area with challenges regarding the optimal and relevant in vitro studies during the drug development phase. The project aims to evaluate potential clinical drug-drug interaction risk via regulation of CYP enzymes and relevant transporters by peptide analogues. This project will give you the possibility to develop competences and skills within novel cellular systems aiming to perform mechanistic evaluation of drug-drug interaction risk associated with peptide analogues.

Our current post-doc fellow has been offered a permanent position within the pharmaceutical industry and we are therefore looking for someone to continue and join the project at an exciting stage. This is a one-year postdoctoral position where the employment is based at Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen and the research is taken place in close collaboration with Professor Aleksandra Galetin. The laboratory at Novo Nordisk and the collaboration with University of Manchester creates an unique opportunity to expand your network both within the pharmaceutical industry as well as the distinguished research group CAPKR. Results generated within the project will be published in peer reviewed journals.


We are looking for a candidate that holds a Ph.D. in Drug metabolism/transport, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline and who has laboratory-based experience with cellular in vitro systems and quantitative drug metabolism/transporters. Strong understanding of DMPK principles is highly desirable; experience with drug-drug interaction prediction will be major advantage. Experience with analytical techniques such as qPCR, LC-MS/MS is considered a plus. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality research publications. Excellent organizational skills and English at a professional level is expected. Good interpersonal skills are required to maintain efficient interactions with internal and external collaborators. As this project is based on a close collaboration between two research groups, you should be interested in building relationships between the project members. A short stay at Manchester University may be required (provided the current situation allows travelling at the time).
