Internships at DIs Office in New York

Are you passionate about international business development, sustainable solutions and green technologies? Do you want to promote Danish solutions in the U.S. and boost Danish companies’ export efforts on the U.S. market?

DI’s office in New York is currently looking for highly motivated and qualified interns to assist Danish companies in the U.S.

Our office in New York is part of a public-private partnership - Danish Cleantech Hub - between DI and State of Green supporting the visibility and commercialization of Danish cleantech solutions in North America. The team supports and consults Danish companies wanting to establish or expand their business activities in the U.S. and assists companies in forming local partnerships and tap into growing markets and sectors.

Danish Cleantech Hub provides the local platform and strong network necessary to bring Danish solutions into play in the U.S. We offer Danish companies an effective route to success in the U.S. by matchmaking with local partners and a joint promotion of Danish solutions through conferences, workshops, events, delegation visits and more.

DI is currently looking for two interns who will be an integrated part of the team’s daily work in promoting Danish exports. Our available internships are:

Business analyst:

  • Scoping and executing events, workshops and delegations concerning collaboration between U.S. stakeholders and Danish companies
  • Assisting in mapping key stakeholders on behalf of Danish companies
  • Conducting business development and growth market strategies, partner analyses, market analysis for Danish companies
  • Researching potential new partnerships between Danish companies and New York
  • Strategic communications intern:

  • Lead on developing Danish Cleantech Hub’s SoMe strategy
  • Daily coordination and planning of Danish Cleantech Hub’s digital and social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
  • Developing content for media channels and execution of external deliverables
  • Press and media outreach to Danish and U.S. journalists
  • Conceptualizing and executing proactive communication plans to increase awareness about Danish Cleantech Hub and Danish solutions
  • Collaborating with DI in Copenhagen about core messaging
  • Scoping and executing events, workshops and delegations concerning collaboration between U.S. stakeholders and Danish companies
  • What we expect from you

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of Danish companies’ core competencies
  • Good interpersonal skills, personal initiative and propensity for team collaboration
  • Detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken
  • The ideal candidate is a master student 
  • The duration of the position is 11 months starting on August 2, 2021. The normal working week is 40 hours, and overtime work is expected to occur during specific periods. The internship is unpaid, but DI provides a housing subsidy of USD 600/month. Previously, interns have succeeded in seeking grants for partial coverage of expenses.
