Job Opening - Energy and Infrastructure Advisor

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Denmark is looking for a qualified and talented expert staff who will work for the Embassy as an Energy and Infrastructure Advisor. The position will be a part of the Embassy’s Economic/Commercial Section. A successful candidate should have a strong understanding of and expertise in the area of energy including renewable energy and mineral resources policy and business in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Working with and supervised by the Economic Counsellor, the successful candidate is expected to perform the following responsibilities with creative thinking and dedication.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze and report on energy issues, particularly renewable energy, mineral resources and green growth policy, technology and industry development, tender information in the Kingdom of Denmark as well as other relevant issues;
  • Also analyze international and EU policies, trends and regulations of relevance;
  • Reach out to Korean companies and support their business development and establishing partnerships with Danish counterparts;
  • Develop and assist the Embassy’s supporting activities or programs for Korean government and business delegation or people visiting Denmark as well as for the similar Danish delegation visiting Korea; Arrange meetings or events for this purpose;
  • Develop and maintain contacts within government, industry, opinion leaders, research institutes and the civil society to achieve the above-mentioned tasks etc.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or any other professional certificates such as lawyer required;
  • Danish nationality or foreign nationality who is able to legally reside in the Kingdom of Denmark (The Embassy does not sponsor visas) required;
  • High level of proficiency in spoken and written English and Danish required;
  • Proficiency in policies on energy, resources, and infrastructure of Denmark and capable of carrying out various tasks related to obtaining orders (record management, network management, information activities, etc.) required;

Belongs to at least one category among the following qualifications required:
  • Maintain a strong network with contacts within energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors of Denmark;
  • Proficiency in collecting information on the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors of Denmark and writing reports;
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility in a team setting, ability to work independently and an enthusiastic approach preferred.

We expect that the position will be filled as soon as possible. The position is on a contract basis and initially offered for one year (with possible extension) including the first 3 month probation period.

The salary for this position will be negotiated and confirmed upon offer of employment.
