Passion for adventurous travel and Polar regions?

We have experienced an increasing demand for our small-ship voyages with Albatros Expeditions and have created a position as Production Manager in our Expedition team.

We are seeking a process-oriented, resourceful and analytical individual to support the development and launch of the product line-up for our core Polar products, ship and land based. This position will support the essential processes and administration for the creation of all our travel products.

Working with the insight provided by the marketing, sales and operations departments, and supported by industry statistics, you will play a key role in the product process. Key objective is to produce first draft product schedules up to 2.5 years before sailing, with confirmed and agreed itineraries and schedules available two years before sailing.

To be successful in this position, the Production Manager should have experience in a similar role and preferably with Polar regions.

Principal tasks:

  • Develop new products and itineraries with input from sales and operations team
  • Deliver production material to our commercial department and partners
  • Represent Albatros Expeditions at key cruise operator associations and communicate updated legislature
  • Ensure that all maritime licenses and documentation is in place for current and upcoming seasons
  • Communication with suppliers and booking of ports
  • Maintain dialogue with on-ship team and crew representatives to ensure friction free and low cost operations in regards to product
  • Provide support in pricing with updated port costs and supplier quotes
  • Evaluate existing itineraries for improved quality, travel efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Track and monitor competitive performance in terms of rate parity and maintain up-to-date competitive analysis in order to drive product innovation

You are:

  • An experienced travel industry professional
  • Meticulous, analytical, detail­ oriented, well organized and skilled at time management
  • Able to deliver accuracy of data by focusing on every detail
  • Expected to have some logistics and operations experience from supplier and tour operator sides of the industry
  • A strong written communicator 
  • Adaptable and independently motivated.
