Senior Sustainability Manager 

Do you want to drive complex sustainable programs across Danish Crown? And do you have the PMO toolbox and skilled stakeholder management skills to take sustainability to the next level? Then you might be the Senior Sustainability Manager, we are looking for to join us in a newly established position at our headquarters in Randers!

In Danish Crown, we are challenging ourselves and our vision is to become the world’s most sustainable and successful meat producer by 2030. This calls for clear sustainability intake in all business areas across Danish Crown.
Overall, you will be a part of Group Sustainability, who all are evolving the sustainability agenda in areas as: strategy development, reporting, risk handling and orchestrating the sustainability journey within farming and food production across the Danish Crown Group.

The sustainability strategy and areas are a major strategic topic in Danish Crown, and we are very serious about reaching our sustainable goals. Therefore, we have established this new position as a Senior Sustainability Manager who can drive the sustainability agenda.

Drive sustainability programs and ensure sustainability is anchored across Danish Crown
As our new Senior Sustainability Manager, you have the main responsibility to lead highly complex programs and projects to speed up of our sustainability agenda, initially the focus will be from abattoirs to processing gate across our business. Your job will be to act as advisor to the sustainability steering committee by ensuring that our sustainable project portfolio is prioritized around our functional boards e-g like Finance, Supply chain, Procurement, and HR across Danish Crown. You will have a significant impact on our sustainable journey and work with top prioritized projects. In other words, we are looking for someone, who can bring us to the next level on our sustainability agenda.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Be front-runner for increased project maturity across the Danish Crown group by actively defining and developing the project excellence strategy and standards
  • Proactive governance participance in establishing practice, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the group
  • Build and drive PMO Sustainability (e.g. risk management, communication, capability development, milestones & KPIs)
  • Lead project and programs with various degrees of complexity and project teams of various sizes that often span across several functions and business units
  • Plan and implement on communication with large range of stakeholders.
  • You must expect 15-20 days of travelling per year.

    Solid stakeholder management skills with passion for changing the future for food
    You hold a relevant education at master’s level and have a minimum of five years of experience leading complex projects across functions, where you have demonstrated a solid track record of developing and delivering critical projects and initiatives. You have in-depth knowledge about PM methodologies and a solid toolbox. You can independently scope projects and deliver them timely and at highest quality.

    It would be a great asset if you have knowledge within at least one sustainability area and discipline together with knowledge of the food industry. Your ability to establish collaborations across projects and influence functional teams throughout the organisation is key to achieving your goals in this role.

    Equally important is that you are a great networker, communicator and ambassador who motivates and inspires the sustainability department, your stakeholders, and Danish Crown. Also, you have excellent communication skills and an ability to balance the needs and requests of your different stakeholders. Finally, you communicate effortlessly in English.
