We are looking for a colleague with a strong background within analytical separation to join the department of Analysis and Separation in the Research and Early Development division at Novo Nordisk. If you are passionate about developing analysis methods for early drug candidate selection, this could be the perfect job for you! Depending on qualifications, you will join the department as a Senior Scientist or Senior Specialist.

About the Department
The department Analysis and Separation is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk and is located in Maaloev in the Copenhagen area of Denmark.

Our shared ambition is to develop fit-for-purpose analytical separation methods for the characterisation of injectable and oral formulations of proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides, expanding into other therapeutic modalities. The department consists of 8 dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues.

We work with state-of-the art instrumentation and use a wide range of analytical separation and detection techniques (RPC, SEC, IEC, HILIC, Affinity-LC, 2D-LC, cIEF, CZE, CE-SDS, MALS, RI, FLD, MS). Future focus areas are high throughput technologies for screening of drug candidates, automatic sample preparation and digitalisation of workflows using mainly Empower as platform for automatic data capture with expected expansion into other data formats.

The position
You will work as an expert in analytical separation science, driving method development in early-stage drug development projects covering a broad range of analytes.

  • Driving the development of new competencies within analytical separation technologies to meet future demands. Furthermore, you will be responsible for transferring analytical methods or expert knowledge to different parts of the organisation.
  • In your daily work, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation as most of the research work is conducted as cross-functional teams.
  • As an analysis expert, you will coordinate analysis activities in projects involving many different stakeholders.

You thrive working experimentally in advanced lab settings. You naturally apply creativity in problem-solving of everyday scientific or technical challenges encountered

Qualifications

  • You hold a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Protein Chemistry OR a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
    • Alternatively, industrial experience at a senior scientist/specialist level will be accepted.
  • Advanced experience with hands-on Chromatographic or Electrophoretic analytical separation techniques.
  • You are experienced in analytical method development using DoE, QbD or similar for method screening.
  • Experience in chromatographic modelling is considered an advantage
  • Ideally, you have an excellent track record or original research within the analytical separation of proteins, peptides, small molecules and oligonucleotides.

On a personal level, you enjoy working in teams to share knowledge, have the ability to build networks and possess good communication skills. You are curious with a positive attitude towards new ideas, people and challenges. You are committed to your tasks, reach your goals, and have a keen interest in drug development. You take the initiative and can stay on top of things in a dynamic working environment. Your passion for science, progress and success will inspire those around you.
