Laboratory assistant

At the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen, a position as a laboratory assistant is available for 8 hours per week starting 1 August 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is available for 1 year. The position is associated with the Section for Cell Biology and Physiology, which includes works with cellular signaling processes. Your work will include auxiliary work: Perform routine laboratory work, including lab cleaning, waste removal, preparing solutions, manufacturing gels, autoclaving and assisting researchers in various ways.

We expect that you

  • are a student of biochemistry or a related subject
  • have experience with the tasks mentioned above
  • are conscientious and able to work under you own initiative
  • have good interpersonal skills
  • are fluent in English – written and spoken

Terms of salary and employment

The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT-officers in the state.

You will be employed as a laboratory assistant at salary grade 1, level 1; the basic salary is currently DKK 4,383 per month based on a working time of 8 hours per week on average.

The working time is 8 hours per week on average.
