The Perrier Lab is looking for an engaged laboratory technician (part-time) with strong experience in genotyping. The position is permanent and is immediately open for appointment.
About us
The Department of Neuroscience (https://in.ku.dk/) is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen and is physically located in the Panum Building and at the Maersk Tower in central Copenhagen. The Department consists of 24 research groups working within different areas of neuroscience. The current position will be affiliated to the Perrier group (details about the research group can be found at https://in.ku.dk/research/jean-francois-perrier/).
What we are looking for
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated and experienced person with strong technical background within genotyping and immunohistochemical staining.
The work tasks will include a variety of technical tasks including genotyping and maintenance of animal colonies, immunohistochemical staining in slice preparations, preparing solutions, calibrating instruments. The duties will also include technical administrative work and collaboration with the technical and administrative staff in the department.
It is desirable that the candidate has a strong technical background especially in genotyping. The ideal candidate is able to carry out counselling tasks. To be considered for the position the successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills in Danish and in English.
Profile
Essential experience and skills:
It is important that you have experience with genotyping and immunohistochemical staining
- Should hold a degree as laboratory technician (academy profession degree or similar)
- You must be good at working independently and organized, and be self-motivated
- Good IT skills
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in Danish and English; spoken as written

- Solution-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time
- A team player

Terms of salary and employment The employment as Laboratory Technician is a permanent part-time (30 hours per week) position. Expected starting date is 1 March 2021 or after agreement.
Employment as laboratory technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 4. Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.
