We are looking for a Blade Mould Engineer, who wants to support us solve one of the most important global issues of our time – Ensuring a more sustainable future.

Vestas Mould factory is part of Vestas Blades Launch and Execution Center in Lem (BLEC) and our focus is to optimize Vestas’ full value chain for mould tools for Vestas Blades. Through innovation, development and continuous product improvement, we develop the moulds and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. You will be part of the mould team where we set the tooling requirements, designing the mould and manufacture the moulds for internal factories and external partners. There is close collaboration with the design engineers, suppliers, receiving factories and manufacturing. This position will be a major part of the mould team and is essential in secure the future blades and thereby achievements. Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring Vestas has the right shell and Web moulds to support efficient blade builds across our global footprint (both internal and external factories)

Specific responsibilities includes


• Mould design Mechanical and Structural
• Take lead into specific technology areas and formulate future technology roadmaps
• Experience specifying and developing requirements and validation methods
• Responsible for providing the most robust, reliable, efficient solutions with highest performance at the lowest cost
• Early engagement with Vestas Power Solution (Blade design and process) and translation of blade requirements
• Solid knowledge of mould engineering for complex composite structures
• Advantage if you have experience with CATIA V5 and solid works for creating Engineering models or design manufacturing models 
• Experience of mould validation or other complex tools (FAT/SAT)
• Understanding and experience of composite material manufacturing processes is highly desirable
• Support the implementation of new processes and auxiliary equipment to the moulding production area.
• Good knowledge of tool making, tool-steel application/selection, heat treating and plating/coating

Qualifications


• Ability to plan, scope and handle work package execution
• Engineering degree in either Mechanical or structural
• Extensive knowledge from Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing
• Ability to make a risk assessment by using relevant FMEA tools
• Ability to work with complex solution covering tools, processes, and materials
• Skills could be within Control systems, vacuum, heating, hydraulics, composites
• Capability of propelling technical projects across departments and cultures
• Capability of solving problems by using relevant methods and tools
• Project management skills is appreciated
