Lead Specialist – Patient Insights

We are looking for a new colleague with a background in qualitative research and a passion for patient focused drug development to join Lundbeck’s Patient Insights Team.

Patient Insights is part of Lundbeck’s R&D organization with a home in Global Medical Affairs.
Our purpose is to enable patient focused medicines development by integrating patient and caregiver perspectives in Lundbeck’s medicines development activities. We work alongside our colleagues across the R&D value chain to ensure a strategic linking to our development programs and evidence generation strategies.

Your job and key responsibilities

As an experienced solutions-orientated self-starter, you will be expected to challenge status quo. You will bring ideas and solutions into play that can ultimately make a difference to patients and caregivers. You excel in cross-functional collaboration - and can shape and drive complex projects while managing ambiguity? positively. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing Lundbeck’s development teams with innovative ideas for making the patient and caregiver voice actionable - in support of business challenges and opportunities.
  • Applying patient focused drug development principles in Lundbeck’s integrated evidence generation strategies across projects and products.
  • Providing expertise to the broader R&D organization on scientific methods that can be applied to better understand the patient perspective on health-related outcomes, clinical behaviors and treatment experience.
  • Reviewing qualitative research projects in context of Lundbeck’s observational research governance.
  • Maintaining a strong external network and enable internalization of evolving methodological guidance and precedence from regulators, HTA bodies and payers.
  • The position is based in Lundbeck’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    Qualifications

    Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:

  • Degree in psychology social sciences, public health or similar, preferably PhD
  • Strong methodological foundation, with extensive experience in planning and executing qualitative research within the pharma / health systems domains
  • +10 years’ experience from industry / academia / regulator / drug development
  • Ability to engage in scientific discussions with high complexity and challenge peers across functions
  • In-depth understanding of frameworks and precedence for patient focused drug development, primarily in the USA but also relevant for other key regions such as Europe and Asia (mainly China and Japan)
  • Passionate interest in patient focused drug development and ability to translate that into opportunities for development projects
  • Strong strategic mindset, that enables a challenging evidence generation strategies and regulatory strategies
  • Excellent understanding of the drug development value chain, as well as access and commercial business drivers
