Lead Specialist within Rheology

Can you cultivate rheological knowledge in Grundfos?

This is your chance to take on a key role as an expert and impact the way Grundfos works with injection moulding, setting the direction and long-term vision for the future.

Join the injection moulding team

As part of our advanced manufacturing engineering organization and injection moulding department, you join a team of 8, consisting of technical project managers, tool designers and moulding experts. We are situated both in Denmark and in France, and as such you become a part of a very international work environment that offers both professional feedback, debate and social interaction. 

 

What is the job about?

In Grundfos, we wish to strengthen our knowledge specific to rheology, as it is an area where we still wish to exceed. As our new lead specialist on the subject, you thus take on the task of building, locating and cultivating rheological knowledge specific to Grundfos products. Therefore, you work with simulation to determine how our material acts, and you come up with possible improvements to our part design.

 

More specifically, it is your responsibility to:

  • Build up new rheological knowledge, including the influence of anisotropic and none linear material properties on structural integrity
  • Influence part design with the aim of further improving quality, reducing material consumption, optimizing tool construction and easing mass production
  • Apply acquired knowledge to optimize process parameters in a global production setup
  • Contribute to technology and innovation projects 

 

Operating in a global setting, you will have a very outgoing and independent role to fill, talking to stakeholders throughout Grundfos. As lead specialist, it will also be your task to make your knowledge available to all of the Grundfos organization once your findings are in place.

 

What do you need to apply?

 

  • You hold an BSc/MSc in mechanical engineering, physics or similar.
  • You have a solid theoretical foundation on simulation as well as material knowledge, and you have at least a couple of years of practical experience with simulation.
  • You have practical experience with simulation software (preferably Moldex 3D), you are familiar with FEM (such as Ansys), and you are used to working with CAD (preferably Catia V5).
  • You have a good grasp of tool design, and you are familiar with injection moulding processes and product design in plastic materials.
  • You are fluent in English in speech and writing.

 

On a personal level, you have the curiosity and drive to independently locate and obtain knowledge. You are outgoing in nature and have the ability to communicate your findings to a wide range of stakeholders throughout Grundfos – be that a colleague or at managerial level.
