Head of Unit
SAP (m/f/d)

In the SAP unit of the City of Leipzig, all operational and strategic SAP tasks and SAP projects are bundled, processed, centrally controlled and the SAP strategy is further developed city-wide. The area of responsibility also includes the supervision of selected preliminary procedures. A key objective of the unit is to support the departments in joint projects and the technical connection to the city's ERP system. The position to be filled is directly assigned to the Deputy Mayor for Finance, Mr. Mayor Bonew, and guarantees a responsible job with great creative potential. Become part of the management team in the Finance Department and help us to shape the modern and digital administration of tomorrow.

What awaits you

  • Management of the unit with 11 employees.
  • Responsibility for all IT procedures to be supervised.
  • Lead, strategy development and optimization of digital, financially relevant, city-wide ERP processes.
  • Initiate, develop and implement fundamental decisions on strategic tasks of digitization of financially relevant processes and procedures for the entire Leipzig city administration.
  • Management and implementation of strategically important, city-wide, cross-departmental projects.
  • Contract and order management, control of external service providers.

What you bring with you

  • Academic university degree (master's degree or diploma from a university) in the field of information technology and digitization, data science & analytics, digital business management or in a comparable field or career qualification for career group 2, second entry level in the field of general administration or financial and tax administration
  • At least two years of experience in personnel management and in the management of IT and/or digitization projects
  • Experience in accompanying change processes in a public administration or other large organizations
  • completed additional qualification, for example, as a project manager / in are expressly desired
  • solution-oriented, cooperative and binding way of working
  • Assertiveness, communication and decision-making skills
  • Interest in actively promoting diversity in the work teams.
  • Experience in facilitating, designing and managing participation and dialogue processes and events is desired
