Engineering Electrical Engineering Converter & High VoltageVestas Power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. Electrical Engineering (EE) is a part of Vestas Power Solutions, Electrical Engineering consist of Converter & High Voltage Engineering (CHV) and Power Plant Engineering (PPE) and Auxiliary Power Engineering (APS).
EE is responsible for technology and product development of all medium and low voltage electrical components at Turbine and Plant level: Converters, Transformers, Switchgears, Electrical control cabinets, Plant Controls, Balance of Plant equipment etc.
Converter & High Voltage Engineering (CHV) is Vestas´ converter development department where we design both the soft- and hardware of our converter systems. CHV is also responsible for all medium voltage components in the turbine, which is sourced from OEM suppliers, and end-to-end responsible for one of the few main systems in the Vestas wind turbines. We operate at all levels from specification and integration of products to detailed design for Vestas´ proprietary solutions and cooperate closely with our internal manufacturing business unit 
The Converter Control department develops and maintains all converter control and software functionalities for all Vestas converters. We provide first in class converter solutions with quality meeting system and grid requirements. 
ResponsibilitiesAs manager of the Converter Control, you will report to the Director of CHV and be part of the CHV management team in Aarhus.You will be responsible for the performance of the team, i.e. mainly for delivering high quality design solutions on time. You will develop employees through talent management, coaching and target setting.You must ensure cooperation between your department, other departments in CHV and our Design Hub in Porto.You must ensure and maintain good contact to a large number of stakeholders throughout the value chain, such as Control Engineering, Manufacturing, Power Plant Engineering.You must at all times have a good overview of the all tasks going on in the departments and be prepared to communicate time schedules and resource constraints, and to negotiate priorities.
You will be working with these challenges:

  • Increase the throughput of your department while maintaining Vestas' high quality standard and your employees' well fare
  • Ensure timely execution of department deliverables such as high quality solutions and documentation
  • Manage resource planning and delegation of work and budget controlling
  • Strong talent management and people performance using development dialogue, one-to-one, target setting, development plans.
  • Coach employees in execution of daily tasks
  • Play an active role in CHV management team
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relations across Vestas, with a special focus on Design Center in Porto and within Power Solutions. 
  • In collaboration with project managers; facilitate planning sessions and follow up on progress
  • Identify optimizations in processes and present solutions
  • Embrace challenges and changes  

QualificationsYour qualifications include: 

  • Minimum of 2 year's management/project management experience from a large organization
  • A bachelor/master in relevant area i.e. Electrical Machine Control or Power Electronics Control.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience as Engineer
  • Experienced in management of Engineering teams
  • Cross cultural understanding and preferable experience with international companies
