Manager –

Chemical Manufacturing Support

Unfortunately, our current manager is uprooting and going home to Jutland, so our fantastic support team will be missing a present, energetic manager. Maybe it's you?

We are located at perhaps Denmark's most beautifully located production site, in Lumsås in Odsherred - where our skilled colleagues in production produce the majority of the active substances (API) for H. Lundbeck's medicines. In total, we have over 50 different synthesis products (intermediates and API) that are run on an annual basis.

The Department:

The Chemical Manufacturing Support (CMS) department is organizationally part of the production department, and consists of 9 employees, including 6 chemists/engineers and 3 supporters/technicians. On a daily basis, they provide process and GMP support to our 5 factories on the site. The group is a good mix of experienced and younger academics, who have a good cross-functional collaboration, both internally in the group and with the other departments on site.

The tasks in the department are wide-ranging and include, among other things,

- Optimizing workflows and related procedures in production.

- Troubleshooting in collaboration with our production teams and other departments on the site

- Advice and guidance in relation to local production procedures

- Training of operators and others

- Deviation treatment – ??Root cause determination and preventive actions

- Update and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

- Updating and revision of production procedures

- Inspection participation

- Advice and guidance in relation to safety, process chemistry and equipment

Presently, we are also in the process of implementing a Manufacturing Execution System (Electronic batch control) in the factories. The system will provide future opportunities in relation to, among other things, automations.

Our employees possess high professionalism and are used to a busy and changing workday, where they solve tasks and challenges in close contact with all professional groups on the site, including operators, maintenance, project employees, QA, QC, etc.

In daily life, the department's employees are very self-driven, but need a manager with whom they can consult when necessary, and who is able to prioritize and coordinate to varying degrees depending on the experience level of the employee. We have several new employees who are still in their learning phase.

You:

We prefer that you:

- Have previous management experience

- Experience with GMP

- Preferably a science academic background engineer, chemist etc. similar.

As a manager and person, you are motivated by working with the development of employees regardless of experience level. You put team spirit and cooperation at the top of the agenda and know that by doing so the best results are achieved.

You are at a point in your life and career where you are looking for a permanent workplace where you can make a difference and develop further.

Depending on your experience and education, alongside your leadership role, you will also solve selected tasks together with your employees.

In terms of management, you will be part of the management team consisting of two Senior managers with responsibility for production, as well as the Director of the department. You will get direct reference to the latter.

When starting new employees at Lundbeck, a training/intro plan is always drawn up to ensure a good introduction, this will also be the case for you. In addition, you will via fixed 1:1 with your manager, draw up an individual development plan that continuously charts your development going forward.

The site:

On the site, the culture is characterized as informal, open and welcoming. Everyone knows each other and we are often described as "a small family" where you are sure to get a "hello" from everyone you meet on your way. Your professional input and your personality are valued, and we want all our employees to be themselves in the workplace - with all that it contains.

Most of us who work in Lumsås come from different places in Zealand and the roads to the site are good - there is a flow in the traffic and no traffic queues.

Why work at our site/company:

There is plenty of opportunity for great responsibility in Lumsås. We are a development and production site and there is much involvement across the board and exciting challenges to throw yourself into. Cross-organizational collaboration is a mantra in our efforts to make everything run smoothly. It binds us together in our mission to produce high quality API on time – which is ultimately for the benefit of our patients.

The hierarchy in Lumsås is flat and your ideas and perspectives are always welcome. The site has a very broad staff composition, with a great deal of knowledge - which they are always happy to share.

We are flexible and offer working from home to the extent that our factories run smoothly and get the support they need.

We offer a competitive salary package depending on qualifications, supplemented by a bonus scheme and health insurance, as well as many good offers in general, such as a training center on site, canteen scheme, etc.

If you have any questions about the position, you are welcome to contact Director Chemical Manufacturing Jimmi Jensen, tel. 30832119.

If you live outside Zealand but is ready to try your luck here on the island, we also have the opportunity to help you with cheap accommodation near the site for the first few months.
