To "PE Tooling and Value Engineering" in Vestas Blades, we are looking for a Manager to join our International team located in "Lem", Denmark.  
Manufacturing and Global Procurement > Blades > Production Engineering > Tooling and Value EngineeringPE Blades is accountable for the delivery of the manufacturing Production Basis, including development of process and tooling of the blades in Vestas. The Manufacturing Tooling and Value Engineering team is responsible towards 8 Blade factories globally on tool development and ongoing support for blades production for wind turbines. The team has about 40 employees located in Lem, Denmark, Isle of Wight UK and in Chennai India. 
The tool team supports both new product developments and all our blades factories around the world during that are in running production. The team is a part of Blades Production Engineering who consists of 100+ employees in total.
Production Engineering identity:

  • Competitive, robust and reliable tooling and processes for all Vestas Blade factories. 
  • Developing and implementing World Class standards for tooling and processes. 
  • Seamless integration and collaboration with factories to support and continuously improve current standards. 
  • Driving business understanding - enabling Vestas to use production as a competitive advantage. 
  • Applying the best training methods to enable efficiency for factory output. 
  • Taking the lead and accountability to improve FMEA on an on-going basis.

ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will mainly be within these 4 areas: 
1 Managerial and Leadership responsibility

  • Recruitment and Retention of world class employees 
  • Build global team through Vestas leadership model
  • Proactively secure Capacity and Capability of needed resources
  • Resource Management for own area

2 Technological responsibility

  • Proactively ensure DFM on new technology concepts, through PFMEA's and pilot's
  • Technology Architecture, Modularity - and Standard platform cross Vestas, and external Blade suppliers

3 Business responsibility

  • Business plan and execution for own area
  • Budget responsible
  • Identify and drive business across key stakeholders
  • Proactively drive the Vestas Standards and Processes
  • Drive TCO across Vestas and suppliers
  • Use data from production to drive intelligence 
  • Build up strategic supplier relationship 

4 Responsibility towards Blade factories

  • Providing the most robust, reliable, efficient solution with highest performance and lowest cost.
  • Supporting Blade Factories 
  • Facilitate best practice across factories (Push best standard => world class OEE)


  • Engineering degree, either Bachelor or Master level / Business education (commercial mind-set and understanding is preferred)
  • Experience from managerial roles including technical understanding
  • Extensive knowledge from Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Experience and specific results from larger manufacturing companies  
  • Results from cost out or value engineering projects


  • High degree of empathic behavior
  • Capable of motivating technical staff across cultures
  • Change Management ability - Able to lead and drive changes
  • Ability to drive stakeholders proactively
  • Ability to coach and train others
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Ambitious and collaborative mindset
