OEM Global Account Manager (EMEA)

Leica Geosystems Technology OEM department support Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) in succeeding increased sales based on tailormade integrated GNSS and sensor solutions mounted directly at the factory. OEM department works closely with Manufacturers R&D departments on a worldwide basis developing future solutions and furthermore serve existing OEM customers handling the high requirements from this segment.

Together with the OEM Director, OEM Managers and OEM Assistant you have plenty opportunities to take responsibility and drive your own tasks while being surrounded by colleagues with high ambitions.

Key responsibilities
In the role as OEM Global Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and managing commercial relationships with OEMs for the Machine Control Division (MCD), working with the MCD Business Unit and working closely with the Group Selling Regions (GSRs) to ensure that MCD products and solutions are implemented into OEM roadmaps. Your task will include the following:

  • Continued development and growth of the Machine Control business
  • Achieve business targets (strategic, market share, financial) set on an annual basis
  • Develop business plans and strategies in liaison with the relevant Segment Manager for the Machine Control Division and other relevant stakeholders to grow the business, and monitor achievement against these plans
  • Monitor competitor product offerings and channel strategies in the market, working collaboratively with the Region and the BU
  • Create, implement and follow up an OEM sales strategy in close cooperation with the OEM Director
  • Increase sales and market share in selected OEMs mainly based in Europe
  • Develop, maintain and improve high level contacts with selected OEM’s
  • In close cooperation with the GSR’s, coordinate all OEM activities
  • Establish and monitor OEM pricing strategies
  • Assure that internal processes exist to service and support the OEM business effectively
  • Monitor and report on all competitor OEM strategies and activities
  • Where OEM product development projects are established, work closely with the OEM Director and the GSR’s to ensure that they are moving forward and that the relationships are continuing.
  • Develop and maintain key internal and external partner relationships critical to the business strategy and success for area of responsibility
  • Implements plans to achieve defined strategic and operational business goals in conjunction with other internal stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the BU team to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set Leica/Hexagon apart from its competitors, as well as developing strategies for the management of product phase-out
  • Perform presentations and attend meetings with existing and potential customers, dealers and OEM’s as the business, market and product expert for Machine Control in Europe, adhering to authorization policies
  • Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry contacts
  • We are looking for a high-level communicator with significant interpersonal skills and strong personal impact
    We expect you to have a minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience, preferably from the OEM Heavy Equipment industry. Aside from this, the following qualities are pivotal:
  • Prior experience in a management position with sales responsibility in excess of EUR 10m
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in managing and implementing business development practices and the product management lifecycle (conception through to design and manufacture, through to service and phase-out)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels and functions
  • Strong strategic thinking and marketing skills
  • Experience in preparing proposals and conducting formal presentations via various delivery methods
  • Prior experience with machine control technologies – desirable
  • Strong organizational skills, entrepreneurial drive and strong work ethics
  • Ability to work independently and yet be fully accountable
  • Ability to form strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the company professionally
  • Approximately 40-50% travel will be required for this role
  • Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of CRM software solutions (e.g. or ONYX preferably)
