Offshore Work Preparer

Work Preparation is a key task in the offshore process of plan, prepare and organise maintenance work for safe and efficient execution offshore.

Key Responsibilities 

The purpose of the Offshore Work Preparer is to support onshore activity planning with needed details to allow safe and efficient execution offshore. The Offshore Work Preparer is responsible for gathering of scope & method statement and defining the needed resources to effectively complete activities. The Offshore Work Preparer is furthermore responsible for managing the resource loaded plans on behalf of the Maintenance Supervisor.

 Your tasks and responsibility areas include:

Provide the Maintenance Supervisor with a true and fair picture of the current and planned resource utilization

Responsible for providing activity feedback to Oneshore Center schedulers enabling an effective lessons learned loop

Responsible for effective support of the onshore work preparer enabling fully prepared and resourced activities being loaded in the plan

First point of contact on planning/scheduling related risks & challenges

Responsible for managing the 28D schedule (resource loaded plan) enabling efficient utilization of the offshore resources

Responsible for coordinating queries related to work preparation and activity execution, planning or scheduling

Responsible for efficient coordination with OneShore Center schedulers enabling efficient plan loading and break-in/break-out of activities

Responsible for do-ability check of plans and schedules prior to entering the 28D window enabling onshore planning team and offshore supervisors in de-conflicting or challenging the plans/schedules

Provide cross-discipline confirmation that the Control of Work related documentation is available prior to plan freeze

Responsible for compliance with planning processes.

You possess a mind-set for collaboration across the organisation including good communication skills. You have the ability to maintain effective working relationships across assets and operations, including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers and superiors.

You keep calm in all situations, and at the same time have the ability to keep the greater view of operations. 

As Work Preparer your background should include:

knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment preferably within the maintenance of oil and gas equipment

knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments

high skills in applying technical knowledge to identify equipment problems and appropriate solutions in order to swiftly develop work packages

skills within use of SAP to prepare work packages and monitor materials availability. 

A specific educational background is not required but most important is that you have technical insight and relevant offshore experience.
