PhD Position in Experimental Membrane Biophysics

At the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark a PhD position is available in the field of experimental membrane biophysics, with focus on the following research topics: plasma membrane repair, membrane curvature, protein-lipid interactions, high-resolution microscopy, data analysis/modelling and design of novel model membrane experiments.

We are seeking excellent applicants with an educational background in physics and a strong potential to perform high-quality experimental research at the interface between physics and cell biology.

The successful PhD candidate will work on the project entitled: ‘Importance of curvature at membrane edges in plasma membrane repair’ funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The project is a close collaboration with the Danish Cancer Society Research Centre (Copenhagen, Denmark) where the PhD candidate will also perform part of the work.

Deadline: 15 March 2018.
