DTU Fotonik works with all areas of photonic engineering and the Department is now seeking to employ a PhD student to do research within new light sources. The work will be carried out within the Light Sources and Industrial Sensor’s research section.

Responsibilities and qualifications
The position is aimed at expanding our competences in photovoltaic systems and new light sources. Acknowledging photonics as a key enabling technology, the research activities originate around modelling and development of new light source architectures and photovoltaic systems. The research section aims for a top 3 positionamong the European research groups in diode lasers, LEDs and photovoltaic systems. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with researchers at international universities and especially Danish companies doing business within in the research topics. It is important that the applicant show that he/she can contribute to the development of new light sources and/or photovoltaics systems and preference will be given to candidates that can strengthen the following areas:

  • Photovoltaic systems
  • LED architectures for energy and lighting applications (green technologies)
  • Nanotechnologies for LEDs and Biophotonics
  • Advanced diode laser based systems for biophotonic imaging
  • Nonlinear MID-IR sensing for scientific and industrial applications
  • A letter motivating the application (cover letter)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Grade transcripts and BSc/MSc diploma
  • Excel sheet with translation of grades to the Danish grading system (see guidelines and Excel spreadsheet here)
