PhD to Study Sponge Physiology

In the Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark we invite applications for a PhD aimed at unravelling the relationships between animal evolution and the Earth's evolving chemical environment. The project will focus on exploring the physiology and functional traits (associated microbes, contractile behaviour, pumping/respiration rate) of sponges in relationship to oxygen concentrations through laboratory and field experiments.

We are seeking a highly motivated applicant with a strong interest in animal physiology and a knack for experimental design. Experience in molecular techniques and an interest in diving are a plus.

Deadline: 15 January 2018.

Please see the full call, including how to apply, on www.sdu.dk.
