Planning lead

As Planning Lead you are the focal point for any Planning and Scheduling decisions, initiatives or standards to be developed or applied in Maersk Oil, Danish Business Unit (DBU). As Planning Lead you are part of the Planning and Performance group, which supports the organisation in being a High Performance Organisation. Planning, Risk Management and Performance are the three pillars of being a mature operator.

We Offer

Maersk Oil offers you a unique opportunity to join an international organization with over 30 different nationalities at the office in Esbjerg. Therefore, you will be able to engage, share knowledge, gain cultural intelligence and be part of a great team of colleagues. This would be essential for you in relationship-building, negotiation and liaison with multiple internal/external stakeholders.

The safety and wellbeing of people and assets, and protecting the environment is the key priority in Maersk Oil.

As Planning Lead two main assignments are clear:

Firstly, the role ensures global standards and guidelines are effectively implemented and followed throughout the business unit. In this context the role ensures that local standards are properly developed and integrated in the existing planning framework.

Secondly, the assignment is to support, drive and lead the Planning community, including the two planning lead positions in the assets, in order to ensure safe, efficient and streamlined activities offshore. The scope of planning is broad and includes all work-streams (Maintenance, Wells, Projects) and all time lines (business planning five years ahead down to scheduling activities)

In DBU, the position also includes a leading/advisory role in process implementation, to ensure state-of-the-art processes are designed, approved and implemented to the expected level across the organization from a scheduling and planning perspective referred to in DBU as the OnePlan.

Key Responsibilities

Apart from the job content mentioned above your specific responsibilities will be to...

Ensure that strategic objectives are reflected in DBU long-term plans

Validate and ensure proper roll out of local standards

Ensure compliance to global standards

Ensure focus on planning excellence across the entire organisation, covering all work-streams

Lead the integration of planning processes, tools, and associated outcomes

Validate planning tool selection (SAP, P6, prioritisation tool...)

Ensure integration of the plans covering the 5-year to 7-day window and proper ownership in the organisation.

You will be measured on how you attain the plans and of the quality of the proposed plans, supported by an appropriate prioritisation process.

Who we are looking for

You have a relevant educational background and you have experience within planning at management level, giving you the necessary tools to implement and drive our processes and leading our planning activities.

Your tool-box comes with SAP and P6 knowledge; Planning and Scheduling industry best practice, not necessarily from the Oil and Gas. You can however demonstrate a strong knowledge of offshore organisation as well as a sound business understanding

As a person you are at ease with change management, and can juggle many jobs at the same time whilst also encountering resistance from an organisation in change. Your exposure to project management has given you a natural preference for systematic and structured approaches. Your ability to interact with people and good communication skills enable you to facilitate stakeholder groups anywhere in the organisation.

Your English proficiency is very good and backs up your communication.

How to apply

If you are interested in this opportunity for employment with Maersk Oil, please submit your application along with relevant back-up documentation before February 20th, 2018. Applications will be evaluated on an on-going basis.
