Plant engineer - Deputy Plant Manager

You will be responsible

As Plant engineer - Deputy Plant Manager you will be responsible with the Plant manager to participate to the sourcing of the equipment, to implement the maintenance system and the spare parts strategy for the project, and to follow with your dedicated team of mechanics and/or the support of external maintenance services, the maintenance of the overall purchase equipment during the construction period of the project. 

Through this responsibility, various tasks will be associated

  • Define water, air and any other fluid requirement and lead the design of the networks of the project according to European and Danish Standards
  • Leads and supervises the pressurized fluid networks
  • Follow the plant list, take care of the reception of the equipment, and follow up certificates and periodicity checking according to the legal rules in Denmark and Germany.
  • Leads and supervises the site equipment erection, installation, trials.
  • Establish and follow up of rental and purchase contracts.
  • Identify needs for erector, piping, welding, machine shop, maintenance suppliers and subcontractors
  • Participate to the definition of equipment and write plant department internal work procedures for maintenance, and installation works
  • Leads with the specialized technician the deployment of the maintenance system
  • Define the list of necessary spare parts to maintain optimum efficiency and the project equipment.
  • Define with the plant manager, the mechanical workshop manager, the marine chief mechanic and the electrical engineer, the technicians, the tools, equipment and installations necessary for preventive and corrective maintenance and site equipment
  • Participates to the budget calculation of equipment investment and running cost and maintenance of equipment.
  • For tailor made equipment (like marine pontoons) or mechanical installation, participate to the review of the design and the requirements definition of mechanical components and utility networks. Participate to the factory acceptance test and final commissioning.


  • A minimum of 5 years of plant management level experience during the site preparation and temporary works phase
  • have a relevant master’s degree in engineering, for example within civil or marine engineering
  • Well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, strategies and best practices and process discipline
  • Track record of excellent judgment and decision-making ability
  • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations & directives to the staff
  • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems
  • Must have demonstrated accountability at the plant management level and have a strong track record of successful execution
  • Demonstrated success as an innovative manufacturing leader
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage operations with excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to personnel, processes and other business matters
  • Ability to develop professional working relationships with customers, peers and employees
