Position as an associate professor at Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus (959996)

A temporary position as an associate professor in molecular neurobiology is available, at Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University. Start date is expected to be March 1 2018 and the positions will run until December 31, 2018. 
 
The applicant has an independent research program which is relevant to basic biology of the nervous system and to human disease. The applicant must hold a PhD degree and relevant training in molecular and cell biology, including experience with the use of primary cell-based model systems and animal models. 
 
The successful candidate has a strong publication record in the relevant research field, and he/she has research leadership experience, including supervision of students at all levels. 
 
The position includes teaching obligations at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and the applicant must therefore be able to document relevant teaching qualifications.

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the assessment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. The selection is made on the basis of an assessment of who of the candidates are most relevant considering the requirements of the advertisement. All applicants will be notified within 6 weeks whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee and will receive his/her assessment. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants, including the main considerations emphasized during the selection process.
