Postdoc at the Centre for Global Criminology, University of Copenhagen

The Centre for Global Criminology (CGC) is looking one or more postdocs with an ethnographic focus on crime and/or policing, commencing 1 January 2021. The candidate must hold a PhD in criminology, sociology or anthropology or similar disciplines, have experience with ethnographic methods and have an interest in carrying out fieldwork.

CGC studies global crime, criminalisation and illicit border- and boundary-crossing phenomena around the world. We work to develop in-depth methodological, empirical and analytical insights by using a cross-disciplinary and mixed-methods approach. The centre’s researchers come from a range of disciplines and work closely with international scholars within the field (see cgc.ku.dk).

The positions include two months’ of fieldwork and will run for a duration of 24 months.

Salary and conditions of employment
Salary and terms of appointment will be in accordance with an agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The annual salary for postdoctoral researchers is within the range of DKK 415.000 – 437.000 (EUR 55,000 – 57,900 app.). The University will also pay a monthly contribution to your pension fund corresponding to 17.1 % of your salary. Negotiation for additional supplements will be possible.

An agreement between The Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) makes it possible for international researchers employed by the University to achieve a pension exemption, whereby the pension contribution will be paid out as salary. For more information about the different pension schemes, please see https://ism.ku.dk/salary-tax-pension/. A special tax scheme is offered to researchers recruited abroad, https://ism.ku.dk/salary-tax-pension/
