Postdoc in animal physiology and metabolism (958416)

The Department of Bioscience, Aarhus University, Denmark invites applications for a full-time 1-year postdoc position in Prof. Angela Fago’s group (http://pure.au.dk/portal/da/angela.fago@bios.au.dk) to study the molecular mechanisms regulating oxygen utilization in fish. We utilize fish models with different tolerance to hypoxia and a wide array of molecular and biochemical methods. Experience in mitochondrial function and metabolic regulation will be a plus. 
 
The position is available from May 1st 2018 or shortly thereafter.

We welcome talented and motivated candidates with a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. 
 
The ideal candidate should:  

  • Be highly motivated to pursue a career in research 
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills  
  • Be capable of designing, planning and carry on experimental studies independently and as a part of the team

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self.
