Postdoc position at the Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen is hiring a postdoc to teach courses in political theory and cognate subfields.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach at the MSc level, including our specialization in political theory.

The position is a two-year full time teaching position. The successful candidate should expect to teach 6 hours per week during each semester, plus thesis advising and other teaching obligations.

The successful candidate will become part of one of Europe’s leading Political Science departments. The Department includes a thriving political theory research group with expertise in areas such as democracy, environmental issues, pluralism, critical theory, and modern political thought.

To be hired at the level of postdoc, the successful candidate must have a Phd degree in hand no later than August 1, 2019.

A postdoctoral position is a fixed-term academic position. The position is heavily weighted in favor of research. Other duties (e.g. research administration) may, furthermore, have to be performed. The University determines the exact ratio between the various responsibilities. The ratio may vary over time.

Terms of employment
The terms of employment and payment are according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
