Postdoc with flair for automation of downstream processes

Are you equally keen on protein purification and laboratory automation? Would you like to take our end-to-end processing platform to the next level? Then join us as a postdoc and automate our downstream processes.

About the department
You will join a dynamic team of 6 scientists, 9 technicians and one PhD student. The department, Downstream Technologies 1, is an integrated part of the Recombinant Technologies area and responsible for protein purification and initial downstream processes for new drug candidates. In close collaboration with key internal stakeholders in Global Research and Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development we develop new methods and deliver material for preclinical testing.

The position
As our new postdoc you will take a front-seat position in our ongoing collaboration with several external partners. The project aims at automating lab-scale processes using a Python platform and commercially available hardware components. We will explore this approach together, with the goal to automate end-to-end downstream processes for proteins and peptides. The automated processes will both include chromatography, filtration and modification steps. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders as well as academic and industry partners.

Qualifications
You have a PhD within Life Science, Chemical Engineering or another relevant field and significant international experience. You have comprehensive knowledge about industry automation standards, especially Open Platform Communications (OPC) and Component Object Model (COM).

You are an experienced Python user and have used OPC and COM interfaces to monitor and control laboratory equipment. Ideally, you have experience in purifying peptides and proteins and/or thorough theoretical knowledge of such processes.

You are open-minded and capable of working cross-culturally and/or in global teams. Finally, you should have good interpersonal skills with a high sense of individual responsibility.

Working at Novo Nordisk
At Novo Nordisk, we have been changing diabetes since 1923. If you are ready to strengthen our position as an innovative pioneer and respected industry leader, we encourage you to join us to make the most of your talent.
