The Computational Science Section at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a two-year postdoc research position starting 1 April 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a PhD in applied mathematics, computational engineering, or related fields. Be a part in making the automotive industry more economic and “greener”. The project involves innovations that target energy savings corresponding to a yearly reduction of 1.5 mio. tons of C02! Tasks include the development and implementation of reduced-order and surrogate models for solver acceleration and surrogate-based optimization, respectively.
The ideal candidate is well acquainted with several of the following areas: scientific computing, in particular for model reduction applications, surrogate modelling, software engineering, high-performance computing.
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers a dynamic research environment and competitive salaries. The department is placed at SDU’s main campus in Odense, which is Denmark’s third largest city, located 1:20 hours by train west of Copenhagen.
