Postdoctoral position in proteomics and bioinformatics (959882)

The Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, Denmark, invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position (possibility of extension up to 4 years with satisfactory progress) starting Spring 2018. 
Research areas and projects. The research aims to identify and characterize novel signaling mechanisms that underlie the development and pathogenesis of salt-sensitive hypertension. Specifically, the use of various systems biology approaches, including quantitative protein mass spectrometry, is required to determine the signaling nodes activated by altered dietary potassium intake.  
Qualifications for this position. Applicants must hold a PhD degree within proteomics, bioinformatics, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or equivalent. The candidate must be qualified to start a postdoctoral position in 2018. Prior and documented experience in sample preparation, use of quantitative (phospho)proteomics and subsequent data handling and analysis is a requirement. Experience with isobaric labeling techniques, peptide fractionation, and QExactive mass spectrometers, alongside mammalian cell culture and various biochemical techniques will be a distinct advantage. The candidate must have excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and a strong record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate must demonstrate a drive and capacity to work independently within a larger research group and to develop this specific research field within the group. Previous experience in the development of grant applications is also recognized.

Appointment as a postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD level.
