Milestone Systems is recruiting a Principal Software Engineer, experienced in C#, SQL and cloud technologies for a scrum team that handles cloud services for our products. These are designed to maximize the value of Milestone products for partners and end-users during the entire lifecycle of the Milestone security installation.

 

The role requires you to have the overview of the tasks within a sprint as well as making estimates on User Stories and tasks. You will act as the leading figure in ensuring the features are implemented on time and with high quality.

  • Review, identify and refine functional, content and data requirements

It is expected that you, together with our data scientist team, can take analytical models all the way from proof-of-concept phase, through agile development and deployment increments, to final monitoring and adjustment setup.

It is a plus if you can do some modelling yourself, but key focus will be on data soundness and model deployment. It is furthermore a great advantage if you are familiar with developing critical shared components such as data ingestion framework, data quality and master data management integration in addition to driving standards and best practice for Data Engineering on our Big Data platform. You will collaborate with, and advise, application feature teams for technical solution design as well as quality assure data pipeline releases and deployments.

Your professional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant education i.e. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Senior developer in either Java or Scala – knowledge of Python a plus
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem including Spark, Hive, and HBase
  • Experience with real time streaming technologies like Kafka, and Rabbit MQ
  • Experience with midrange technologies like Linux and RDBMS an added advantage
  • General knowledge of Data management, ETL, and Data Quality principles
  • Interest in Fintech Sector
