Principal/Senior scientist within organic chemistry

If you are an ambitious and experienced scientist with a passion for organic chemistry and process development , you could be our new colleague in Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT). We are seeking a new Principal/Senior Scientist for late stage CMC activities, organic synthesis in lab scale, process optimization and upscale. Preferably you have experience with API process development for clinical trials and CMC documentation.


About the department

MSAT API Pilot Plant is a department consisting of 11 dedicated employees. We are responsible for all API activities in relation to LEO’s development portfolio after Proof of Concept (PoC). The department functions as a connection between R&D and Global Product Supply (production). Our job is to ensure that we develop processes which can supply API via scalable, safe and robust processes. Our mind-set is flexible and proactive.


A position where you can influence our future success 

As our new scientist your responsibilities will cover:

  • Development, optimization and scale-up of synthetic processes applicable for pilot scale and ultimately commercial scale
  • Design and execute QRM (Quality risk management) activities
  • Process transfer into pilot plant and ultimately into commercial production
  • Manufacture of API for pre-clinical and clinical trials
  • Close collaboration with internal colleagues as well as our external API partners
  • Ensure GMP and compliance management
  • Documentation of CMC activities (reports, presentations etc)

 

Your profile

You are a responsible and motivated team player, result-oriented and well organised in your working routines. You have a solid background within organic process chemistry, process up-scale and pilot plant activities in a development environment. Ideally, you have five years of experience with process chemistry from the pharmaceutical industry. You enjoy working in the laboratory to solve the challenges related to ensuring a robust process

In addition you possess:

  • A MSc/PhD in organic chemistry or equivalent scientific experience
  • The flexibility of being both independent and a dedicated team player
  • Preferably solid knowledge of GMP and regulatory guidelines applicable during drug development
  • A proactive, positive and structured person with a flexible mind-set
  • The ability to convert theory into practice
