Process specialist/engineer in nanomaterial and nanostructured device fabrication for quantum information technologies at the Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen (Station Q)

The Center for Quantum Devices is a basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation, comprising materials research, experimental physics, nanoelectronics and condensed matter theory. Microsoft Quantum - Copenhagen (Station Q) is a research center sponsored by Microsoft Research aimed at developing topological quantum information processing hardware. 
The position 
The Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen (Station Q) at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, announces the opening of a process specialist/engineer position to participate in the development of hybrid superconductor-semiconductor material schemes for quantum transport electronic structures. The project work will involve innovative solutions to substrate fabrication for nano-structured crystal growth, as well as structural and electronic characterization of the materials and devices.

The candidate 
The successful applicant should have at a minimum a Masters’s degree and should have a strong background in nanofabrication, and preferably material science. Due to the nature of the tasks given for the position your should have: 

  • Experience with basic research in materials physics including crystal growth 
  • Considerable cleanroom experience, including electron beam Lithography, Reactive Ion Etching, Atomic Layer Deposition. 
  • Ability to work with a collaborative team in an interdisciplinary environment.

Terms of appointment and payment 
Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Government and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). In addition to the basic salary a monthly contribution to a pension fund is added (17.1% of the salary). The base salary depends seniority, from approximately DKK 25,000/month. A supplement can be negotiated, depending on experience and qualifications.
