As department Manager of the Global Airtech Procurement team you will be part of our centralized Group Procurement organization, a very engaged & professional organization working globally and across all divisions and entities in FLSmidth.


Brief Description

Set the direction and lead - to deliver success

You will be heading a team of procurement professionals driving Procurement of Airtech equipment securing alignment with Global Category management & strategies. As Department Manager you enable your team to get the most out their talent and by that deliver best in class solutions in our industry. You ensure right specifications, optimal staffing, proper guidance and coaching in order to deliver on time, on budget and with top-class quality. In detail, it will be your job to:

·         Set direction with clearly defined goals and objectives

·         Coach, motivate and develop your team

·         Building and maintaining relations to internal customers as well as suppliers

·         Perform ongoing risk management on projects and the departments overall portfolio

·         Ensure the success of the ongoing optimisation of processes and methods

·         Constantly be a part of best practise implementation  

You can foresee up to 30-40 travel days per year.

Motivational leader with technical insight and business understanding

Your CV covers vast experience from an international setting driving Procurement of complex products. For that matter, your technical expertise could derive from an engineering degree supported by a solid business understanding and the ability to deliver results in a complex organisational setting. You have proven your ability to coach and guide specialists in technical and commercial matters.

You thrive on being an inspiring people manager who listen and encourage employees to provide their own solutions and make the most of their talents. Relying on your comprehensive view, you excel at bridging the customers’ requirements with your organisation’s capacity to deliver. This requires good communication skills and a cross-cultural understanding along with a positive and cooperative mind-set.
