Product Development Engineer/Technician

Do you have a drive and desire to turn your ideas into actual products, and would you like to be at the forefront of product development in Grundfos?

As product development engineer in this newly established position, you get to combine and make full use of your curiosity and electronics skills. Along with a highly skilled team of engineers, technicians and developers, you will be able to experiment, discuss, test and build prototypes for new or improved pump solutions across our entire product range.

”This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with product development in its entirety. You will join a team of 33 like-minded field experts who are thrilled to be able to develop new products that are used on a large global scale,” Flemming Baltzersen, Electronics Laboratory Manager says.

Development and test of prototypes

You will form part of the Electronics Laboratory team where you will report to E-Lab Manager Flemming Baltzersen. Here, you will contribute to developing and testing future solutions and HW prototypes. This involves:

  • Practical development of HW prototype mock-ups, HW test and verification, SW test tasks, component test, etc.
  • Practical development of small product series.
  • Electronics testing, trace, debugging, trouble-shooting and reporting.
  • Testing in controlled environments, teststands and live environments to test the environmental influences and effect on the electronic design.

“We have performed live tests at the top of a windmill, at water plants and pretty much at any production site you can imagine. Our pumps are used in all kinds of industries, and we get to test what we have developed in real life action,” Flemming says.

What do you need to apply?

We are looking for a committed colleague who enjoys making things happen. You thrive in the development phase, but you are just as happy getting your hands dirty and testing out new solutions yourself. You enjoy working with a large network of colleagues and have a natural flair for establishing strong working relations on all levels of the organisation. Moreover, you:

  • Have an engineering degree or have proven yourself as an electronics technician with some years of relevant work experience.
  • Have experience with the development of analogue/digital hardware.
  • Have experience with analogue measuring techniques, power electronics and print layout in PADS.
  • Possess the capability to perform electronics circuit simulations in e.g. pSpice or Saber.
  • Possess the capability to evaluate test results in general and specifically from controlled environment tests.
  • Have good communication skills, and you speak and write English fluently.

“You can look forward to a lot of freedom in your work, and so, it is important that you are a problem solver and that you are capable of working independantly with little guidance,” Flemming concludes.
