We have vacancies for Production Optimisation Consultants and Production Optimisation Business Partners, to join an international team of 35 colleagues based in 4 countries. Job location can be in Denmark or UK and travel will be required between sites.

Arla is working on a transformation programmed called Calcium, which will, among others, change the company by creating significant efficiency improvements. The Production Optimisation workstream plays a pivotal role in ensuring we delivery against challenging improvement targets within Supply Chain.

What are these two jobs?

In both positions, you will work on a range of high impact improvement initiatives at our production sites. As a Consultant, you will work as part of a project team where you visit dairies to increase efficiency, identifying potential improvements and driving workstream activities. You will create tactical implementation plans, lead and facilitate CI and maturity boost workshops and ultimately, ensure delivery against objectives. Projects could involve reducing material losses, overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and other lean manufacturing related tasks.

As a Business Partner, your focus is similar but also focused more on the long term. Together with a project team and the sites, you will develop an improvement plan for the coming years and ensure sustainable implementation is secured. You will partner with specific production sites, Site Directors and Production Vice Presidents to align on objectives and priorities and then working to embed the desired mindset and behaviour within the teams. To secure long term sustainability of the improvements, you build a culture of coaching and process confirmation. You will identify “lighthouse” sites where best practice is achieved and then roll out similar initatives at other sites.

The nature of both positions means you need to be at the sites to deliver, so travel and regular overnight stays are required.

Who are you?

For both positions, you will bring experience from a similar manufacturing / supply chain position, or perhaps an operational role where you have built up a strong experience and toolbox around lean manufacturing and production improvements. You bring an analytical skill set with an ability to quickly understand complex problems. From there, your strong communication skills and personal impact allow you to build relationships and deliver against the plan. You are skilled and comfortable in facilitating workshops to groups, taking the lead and ensuring engagement from a diverse group of stakeholders.

The successful Business Partners will have the ability to act as a true business partner to the Site Directors which will require you to challenge and probe to find the right solution. You bring high energy and drive but also the patience, persistence and empathy that is required to deliver a major transformation project. Further, you have excellent coaching skills and use these successfully to deliver short and long term change.
