This position reports to the Production Manager with primary responsibility of leading a team of Production Leads, Operators and Associates. This position is located at our Wausau, WI plant where probiotics are manufactured and packaged into finished products.


  • Champion the safety culture and performance for their team.
  • Perform investigations, get to root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Assure team is trained and in compliance with Safety, Quality and Production systems.
  • Owns the Batch Production Record (BPR) for their team including flow, comprehension, training, completeness, accuracy, and occasional doc review.
  • Ensure team meets production efficiency targets.
  • Manage labor cost, assure it is reported correctly and accurately.
  • Leads employee interviewing, hiring, and discipline for their team.
  • Lead new hire onboarding for team members.
  • Promote and develop cross training to build flexible team.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping of work area.
  • Provide daily working guidance and direction to team.
  • A positive pro-company can-do attitude.
  • Maintain 5S.
  • Training is being completed by the team on time.
  • Support continuous improvement process within their team including SOP and SW development and updates.
  • Support change management with high level of hands on involvement.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and consumable equipment parts to ensure proper storage and inventory levels are maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training:

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prefer 2+ years of relevant experience in an FDA-regulated or controlled manufacturing environment, preferably food, dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledgeable in GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation, dietary supplement regulations, food regulations, and product safety.
  • Demonstrated Excel, Outlook, Word and general office skills.
  • Be able to work within established routines, methods and procedures under very strict management parameters.
  • People-centric.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
  • Sets direction and creates accountability for the team.
  • Sense of urgency balanced with professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player in a diverse work group.
  • Other duties as required.
