Can you build a first mover Master program with 360-degree sustainability foundation?

If your professional background and interest is founded on sustainability in all aspects of the term, and you are looking for an opportunity to get your message out to the world, you have it right here. At DTU Learn for Life we have created a joint venture with Ledernes Hovedorganisation and DTU Entrepreneurship to develop the leadership education of tomorrow – in the shape of a never-seen-before Master program for sustainable leadership utilizing the latest technological innovations.

The unique idea is to think sustainability into every part of the program. We are not just talking climate and environment. We are talking everything from sustainable relevance over time to sustainable time consumption for the involved to… Now, we just need you to take lead and turn ideas into tangible solutions in close collaboration with highly experienced and competent colleagues and partners.

Creation, innovation, facilitation and collaboration
As Program Director you are first and foremost the one that make things happen. The plan is to test the first courses in the fall 2021 and to kick off the full program from summer 2022. While sprinting towards test courses, you begin creating the overall frame setting of the program in close dialogue with the partner group. When having launched the full program, we expect it will take 4-5 years of ongoing optimisations before you and the partner group have turned the rough diamond into a shining and finalised brilliant with only minor need for future adjustments.

Across all activities, you are the guardian of the vision of the program in order to ensure that we do not just make yet another MBA in leadership. This calls for your ability to challenge e.g. potential teachers in their development of courses. Like we do, they we will need to rethink their education to bring sustainability into every little bit, byte and molecule. Additionally, you think of how to get participants on board. The final marketing plan and execution is developed in close collaboration with marketing specialists from DTU. The target group is young/upcoming European leaders in their first job as people or project manager. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Develop the overall framework for the program – with your partner group
  • Develop ideas for courses in the program – with your partner group
  • Ensure strong collaboration between DTU, Learn for life, DTU Entrepreneurship and Ledernes Hovedorganisation
  • Plan and administrate test courses to run this fall – develop and run a test lab
  • Attract new partners including potential professors/teachers
  • Create a marketing and sales plan – in collaboration with DTU’s marketing team
  • Facilitate the program across idea development, support to participants etc.
  • Your new workplace will be the DTU main campus and your closest peers will be four very experienced and equally skilled colleagues with same role as yours, meaning you can look forward to highly qualified knowledge sharing and coaching – this also goes for your contacts in the partner group.

Sustainability expert with solid skills as project manager and facilitator
We are looking for a sustainability expert with interest in leadership development (this part we can teach you). However, you must not only have knowledge of sustainability, you must also know how to convey cutting edge knowledge. This calls for your open mind and willingness to try new ideas.

As Program Director you must also thrive in a very outgoing role. Basically, nothing will happen if you don’t make it happen, and you must be ready for and able to handle equal amounts of persistency and lack of interest. This calls for your ability to navigate safely in a multi stakeholder setting with many parallel agendas – this project is a Marathon with sprint stages as part. If you master critical thinking

and problem solving, and you can add a big chunk of creativity on top, you have just the right foundation for success. Additionally, your CV comprises:

  • A Master’s degree
  • Solid experience from working with sustainability
  • Experience and/or motivation for working with leadership development
  • Experience as facilitator and project manager
  • Good language skills in English and Danish, written and spoken
